Dr. Nikolaos K. Gavalas

Dr. Nikolaos K. Gavalas is the Director and Chief Counsel of our Firm.
Attorney-at-law, Born in Athens, Greece, was admitted to Athens Bar Association in 1971 and is now a Supreme Court attorney.

Education: University of Athens, Faculty of Law (1968) ; Johann Wolfgang University of Frankfurt, Germany (1974) ; Faculte Internationale de Droit Compare, France (1974), Institute for Advanced legal Studies, UK (1987).

Academic post: Held an academic position at the Law School of the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece (1995 2005), where he researched and taught Employment law, Social security Law, Industrial Relations and European and International Labour Law.

Publications, Research: The termination of employment contract in comparative and Greek Labour law (a comparative study in 6 legal systems – doctoral thesis), Sakkoulas publications, 1993; European Social law from Rome to Amsterdam (2000]; Greek Employment legislation (Nomiki Vivliothiki 2000); International Labour law (Democritus University publications 2003). He is the author of more than 40 articles and legal comments on Greek, European and International employment law and industrial relation issues  in Greek and foreign reviews and periodicals. He has been member of the editorial staff of the Greek Review, Business and Company Law Review.(Nomiki Vivliothiki publications) He has drafted numerous reports and has delivered many lectures on employment law and industrial relations in Greece and abroad.

(Araxos, Greece)1994-1998; Legal Counsel in Employment law and Industrial relations of ELLINOVRETANIKI Insurance Company (Athens, Greece), 1994-1996; Legal Expert of EU in view of the incorporation of EU Council Directives 2000/43/EC and 2000/78/EC in Greece (2001-2006).
